This autumn promises to be more delicatessen-worthy<\/strong> than ever, so let’s take a look at the gastronomic calendar<\/strong> for a season packed with delightful surprises.<\/p>\n

Territorio Atl\u00e1ntico: A Celebration of Local Flavors<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The first event of the season kicked off a few days ago. The Territorio Atl\u00e1ntico Gastronomic Days<\/strong>, promoted by the A Coru\u00f1a Tourism Consortium<\/strong>, return for their third edition<\/strong>, bringing together 21 restaurants and hospitality establishments<\/strong> united by their passion for Galician ingredients<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Until October 23<\/strong>, Peculiar, Charlat\u00e1n, Greca Bar, Bido, Restaurante Novo, Pablo Gallego, La Empanada Viajera, Nado, A Espiga, Salitre, Habaziro, Caf\u00e9 Veracruz, Central Park, Eira, Taberna 5 Mares, Millo Orz\u00e1n, Cant\u00f3n 23, Esencia, La Conquista, Roots, and A Parva<\/strong> will offer a total of 25 unique and bold dishes<\/strong>, both savory and sweet, all made with local products sourced from the Mari\u00f1as Coru\u00f1esas e Terras do Mandeo Biosphere Reserve<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Seasonal, zero-kilometer<\/strong> ingredients of the highest quality take center stage, including mushrooms, chestnuts, pumpkin, eggplant, cabbage, artichokes, spinach, quail, and apples<\/strong>. The culinary talent of A Coru\u00f1a\u2019s chefs<\/strong> is evident in their commitment to sustainable gastronomy<\/strong>, increasingly sought after by a new generation of diners concerned about environmental impact<\/strong> and the fusion of global flavors with local traditions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Expect an array of autumnal delights<\/strong>, such as marinated sardine fillets with Cagiao cheese, baby zucchini tempura, vegetable ratatouille, fresh salads, empanadas, seafood dishes, quail with cabbage, Asian fusion elements, Peruvian and Italian-inspired flavors<\/strong>, and, of course, irresistible desserts<\/strong> for the most refined palates.<\/p>\n

Picadillo Tapas Competition: A Coru\u00f1a\u2019s Ultimate Tapas Event<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Territorio Atl\u00e1ntico is an excellent way to savor A Coru\u00f1a<\/strong>, but it’s just the beginning. Next month marks the start of the 18th edition of the Picadillo Tapas Competition<\/strong>, the oldest tapas contest in Galicia<\/strong>, honoring Manuel Mar\u00eda Puga y Parga<\/strong>, a former mayor of the city in the early 20th century, renowned gastronome<\/strong>, and author of influential cookbooks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Tapas culture is deeply ingrained in A Coru\u00f1a<\/strong>, and from November 3 to 13<\/strong>, food lovers will be able to enjoy dozens of creative bites<\/strong>, where innovation and tradition<\/strong> meet with imagination and quality<\/strong>. The event takes place in a relaxed, lively atmosphere<\/strong>, inviting locals and visitors alike to hop from bar to bar<\/strong>, indulging in delicious tapas with family and friends<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This edition will feature two main categories<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  • Creative Tapas<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Picadillo Recipe Tapas<\/strong>, judged by an expert panel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Additionally, there will be special prizes for:<\/p>\n

    • Best Pairing<\/strong>, requiring the use of 1906 beer from Estrella Galicia<\/strong>, the contest’s official sponsor.<\/li>\n
    • City of A Coru\u00f1a Award<\/strong>, determined by public vote<\/strong> through a dedicated web app<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      All Picadillo tapas<\/strong> must be original, handmade, and crafted using local, zero-kilometer products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      Boucatise: A Coru\u00f1a\u2019s Gourmet Sandwich Festival<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      The autumn gastronomic journey doesn\u2019t end there<\/strong>. On December 3 and 4<\/strong>, the San Agust\u00edn Market<\/strong> will host the Boucatise Festival<\/strong>, A Coru\u00f1a\u2019s gourmet sandwich festival<\/strong>. Now in its seventh year<\/strong>, this event celebrates culinary creativity in sandwich form<\/strong>, with 14 local establishments<\/strong> presenting their signature creations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      Each sandwich will be made using homemade or premium Galician bread<\/strong>, filled with top-quality local ingredients<\/strong>. As an added challenge, one key ingredient in each sandwich must be purchased directly from the San Agust\u00edn Market<\/strong>, reinforcing the festival\u2019s commitment to local products and sustainable cuisine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
