
Valladolid, April 28, 2022 –
From April 29 to May 2, the capital of the Pisuerga River will host the “Plaza Mayor del Vino”, a gathering spot for the five Designations of Origin (DOs) present in the province of Valladolid: Ribera del Duero, Rueda, Cigales, Toro, and León.
A Celebration of Wine and Local Products
This edition will feature 28 wineries, alongside seven food producers, offering visitors a complete gastronomic experience.
Attendees can purchase a voucher for five wine tastings, including a branded glass and a glass holder, for ten euros. Each purchase also comes with a small portion of aged cheese to complement the wine tasting.
Exclusive Wine Tastings
The event will also include two guided wine tastings:
- On Saturday at 6:15 PM, the “Blind Tasting with Rueda” will take place, a sensory tasting experience hosted by blind journalist Jonathan Armengol, showcasing wines from the Rueda DO and Wine Route.
- On Sunday, a guided tasting will highlight wines from all five DOs in Valladolid.
Live Music & Entertainment
The Plaza Mayor will be animated with live music, entertainment, and performances by different musical groups:
- Friday at 8:30 PM – Cabeza de Gallo
- Saturday at 8:30 PM – Bloody Mary
- Sunday at 8:30 PM – Cañoneros
- Monday at 1:00 PM – Señorita Pepis
Wine Tourism Excursions
The “Valladolid. Plaza Mayor del Vino” program, organized by Foro Debate with sponsorship from the Valladolid City Council, also offers wine tourism excursions to the Ribera del Duero, Rueda, Toro, and Cigales Wine Routes.
Each excursion includes:
- Transportation
- Guided tours
- Visits to monuments and wineries
- Wine tastings
- A full meal
The price per excursion is €55.
